Mueller is one of Austin’s most interesting neighborhoods — a walkable, mixed-use community built on the old Robert Mueller Municipal Airport site, just east of I-35 between Airport Boulevard and Manor Road. It attracts a younger, urban crowd: professionals, young families, and renters who want modern living close to everything. With a high concentration of apartments and condos, Mueller is a neighborhood we get called to regularly, and it’s one we genuinely enjoy working in. This month we made a trip out for a 65″ TV mount in one of Mueller’s apartment units.

The customer had a 65″ television that needed to go up on the living room wall — a clean, centered mount that would work well in an open-concept apartment layout. Apartment installs require a bit more attention to detail than houses: wall construction varies, stud placement isn’t always where you’d expect it, and the finish has to look right in a space where the TV is the main visual anchor of the room. We came in, assessed the wall, found solid anchor points, and got the TV exactly where it needed to be.

Because the apartment walls weren’t pre-wired for in-wall cable routing, we used an external cord cover — a clean, paintable raceway that runs the cables along the wall surface and eliminates the dangling wire problem entirely. Done right, a cord cover is nearly invisible from a normal viewing distance and gives you a result that looks intentional rather than improvised. We routed all the cabling through the raceway, tucked it tight to the wall, and finished the install with everything level and cable-free from the front. Clean, professional, renter-friendly.

Mueller sits right in the middle of Austin’s east side, surrounded by neighborhoods we serve regularly — Windsor Park, Cherrywood, Govalle, Hyde Park, and the broader East Austin corridor. Bat City TV handles apartment and condo TV mounting throughout Central and East Austin, and we’re familiar with the quirks that come with rental properties: limited wall options, no in-wall wiring, and the need for a clean finish that doesn’t damage the unit. We handle all of it.
