The job called for a 75-inch television mounted above a stone fireplace, with a Sonos soundbar positioned directly below the screen — all with wires completely hidden from view. Stone surfaces present unique challenges: there’s no stud structure to anchor into the traditional way, and drilling into stone requires the right bits, the right anchors, and a careful approach to avoid cracking the surround. Our team handled the full mount, drilled cleanly into the stone, ran all HDMI and power cables behind the wall, and finished with a seamless in-wall power kit so there wasn’t a single visible wire. The Sonos soundbar was bracket-mounted below the TV and integrated with the client’s existing system.

Done correctly with the right mount, viewing angle, and heat clearance, it’s a beautiful and functional setup. Done incorrectly, it can cause neck strain from an overly high screen or heat damage to electronics over time. We always assess fireplace heat output, recommend the appropriate mount height based on room seating, and use a full-motion articulating arm when needed so the screen can tilt down to eye level. For this Zilker install, the final viewing height was dialed in perfectly for the client’s sectional layout.
