Anyone searching for tv mounting north austin is usually looking at the same set of problems: a TV that is sitting on a stand or leaning in a corner, a power cord hanging down the wall, and a living room where the screen should be at eye level. North Austin, in the area around Rundberg Lane, North Lamar Boulevard, and Metric Boulevard, is a mix of apartments, townhomes, and older single-family housing. That changes how we approach the install. Space is often tight, so the mount has to sit flat to save depth, the TV has to land at the right height over the existing furniture, and the power cord needs a clean path instead of a dangling one.

58-inch Hisense Roku TV mounted on a flush wall mount with hidden power cord, TV mounting North Austin

So when a North Austin homeowner called about getting a Hisense Roku TV off the stand and onto the wall, the job was straightforward in concept and detail-driven in the doing. For a similar Roku TV install just north of here, see our 65-inch Roku TV with in-wall cord concealment in Wells Branch.

This was a 58-inch Hisense Roku TV, a TV the customer already owned, so this was an install rather than a sale. The TV went on a medium flush mount, which holds the screen close to the wall with no tilt and no swing arm. We also installed a power relocation kit, which moves the power connection up behind the TV so the power cord no longer runs down the wall to an outlet near the floor. The result is a screen that sits just off the wall with no visible power cord below it, hung over the customer’s existing media console. Finished install: 58-inch Hisense Roku TV, flush wall mount, power relocation kit, North Austin.

Two choices drive most TV mounting jobs: the mount type and the cord concealment. A flush mount keeps the TV tight against the wall and looks the cleanest. The tradeoff is that it does not move, so it is the right pick when the TV is at a fixed spot facing the seating, like this one over a console. A tilt mount is a good fit when the TV has to go higher than eye level, and a full-motion mount is for corners and rooms where the screen has to turn toward different seats. On the cord side, a power relocation kit is a tidy way to hide the power cord when the TV sits over a console, because the power connection moves to the back of the TV area. External concealment is a surface-mounted channel and is useful when opening the wall is not an option.

Hisense Roku TVs are a good example of how much value there is in a well-done mount. The TV has Roku built in, so there is no extra streaming box to hide. That means fewer cables, and a power relocation kit does most of the cleanup on its own.
