Here is a recent Sonos Arc and Sub installation Jester Austin job by Bat City TV. Jester is a hilly, private west Austin neighborhood of spacious homes behind Loop 360 near the Bull Creek greenbelt, with large lots and mature trees. When a Jester homeowner reached out to Bat City TV about an 85-inch TV and a Sonos home theater setup, they wanted the TV, a Sonos Arc, and a Sonos Sub supplied by us and installed together.

The install was an 85-inch TV mounted on the wall with the Sonos Arc soundbar installed below it on a dedicated wall bracket and the Sonos Sub placed on the floor for bass. Bat City TV supplied and delivered all of the components. The Sonos Arc is a Dolby Atmos soundbar with upward-firing drivers that add overhead sound when it is placed well relative to the ceiling height and the listener’s position. The Sonos Sub adds low-frequency output the Arc alone cannot fully deliver, which suits an 85-inch display. We mounted the TV at a height that suits the room’s seating, positioned the Arc below it, and placed the Sub at a spot in the room that works for bass.

A Sonos Arc and Sub combination takes some thought to place. The Arc’s Dolby Atmos performance is affected by its distance from the TV, its distance from the side walls, and the ceiling height above it, since those determine how the overhead sound reflects. The Sub’s position in the room affects bass response at the different listening spots. As an authorized Sonos dealer, Bat City TV connects the Arc to the TV over HDMI eARC from the correct port, and we can help you choose placement for the Arc and Sub in your room.

The Sonos Arc and Sub pairs well with larger displays like 75-inch and 85-inch TVs, where the picture is big and the audio should keep up. As an authorized Sonos dealer, Bat City TV can supply Sonos soundbars, subs, and speakers, and we can help Jester homeowners plan an audio setup for their room. Neighbors in Bull Creek, Northwest Hills, Westover Hills, and the Loop 360 corridor are all in our west Austin service area.
