Here is a recent Samsung Frame TV shiplap fireplace Bull Creek job by Bat City TV. Bull Creek is a wooded, hilly west Austin neighborhood along Bull Creek Road and Loop 360, close to Bull Creek District Park and the greenbelt trails, with homes ranging from mid-century originals to renovated properties. When a Bull Creek homeowner reached out to Bat City TV looking for a Samsung Frame TV for their shiplap fireplace wall, the pairing made sense: a gallery-style display that looks like art, on a wall that is already a design feature. We supplied the Frame, delivered it, and installed it.

The install was a 65-inch Samsung Frame TV supplied by Bat City TV, delivered to the Bull Creek home, and installed above a shiplap fireplace wall. Shiplap brings a mounting challenge that a flat painted wall does not: the horizontal planks make an uneven surface behind the bracket, so the mount has to be planned so the bracket sits flush and the weight is carried by the wall behind the planks rather than the wood facing itself. We used hardware suited to the wall behind the shiplap, and mounted Samsung’s No-Gap Wall Mount so the Frame sat as flush to the shiplap as the installation would allow. The One Connect cable was routed cleanly, and the display was set up in art mode before we left.

Mounting a TV on shiplap takes a different approach than a flat wall, because the planks add depth, create an uneven surface, and should not carry the TV’s weight. The key is anchoring through the shiplap into the wall behind it. That means fasteners long enough to pass cleanly through the planking, and checking that the bracket has solid contact with the wall behind before any weight goes on it. A fireplace wall also calls for choosing a mounting height with the firebox and the room in mind.

Shiplap fireplace walls are a popular design feature in renovated Austin homes, and a Samsung Frame above one is a good fit. As an authorized Samsung dealer, Bat City TV can supply Samsung Frame TVs, deliver them to your home, and handle the installation, including the No-Gap mount and One Connect routing.
