Barton Hills is one of Austin’s most quietly desirable south-side neighborhoods — the wooded hillside community south of Barton Springs and just west of Lamar, where custom homes on generous lots overlook the Barton Creek greenbelt and longtime residents have made it one of the most consistently loved corners of South Austin. The homes here tend to have architectural character and thoughtfully designed living rooms, with fireplaces that anchor the room and homeowners who care about how every element in the space works together. So when a Barton Hills homeowner reached out about installing a 75″ Samsung Frame TV above their tile fireplace and asked us to source the TV through our authorized dealer relationship with Samsung, we knew this was exactly the install profile the Frame TV was designed for.

The customer bought the 75″ Samsung Frame TV directly through Bat City TV at authorized dealer pricing — sold, delivered, and installed in a single appointment, with no separate shopping trip and no coordination between a retailer and an installer. The fireplace surround was polished tile, which is one of the more technically demanding surfaces in our trade to drill into cleanly. We pre-marked every anchor point, drilled the tile with precision diamond bits, and used heavy-duty masonry anchors rated well above the load of the 75″ Frame. The included Slim Fit Wall Mount was set perfectly flush against the surround so the TV sits nearly flat against the tile the way Samsung designed the Frame to look. The One Connect cable was routed through the wall behind the tile to a power outlet relocated below the mantle, eliminating any visible cable across the fireplace face. With the homeowner’s curated art loaded into Art Mode, the finished result looked exactly the way the Frame promises: a framed piece of art hanging above the fireplace, not a TV.

Mounting a 75″ Samsung Frame TV over a tile fireplace combines two of the most technically demanding installs we do into one job. The 75″ Frame weighs roughly 75 pounds and requires multi-stud anchoring — no single stud can safely carry the cantilevered weight at fireplace height. The tile surround is unforgiving of any drilling mistake: one cracked tile costs hundreds to replace and weeks to source in the exact color and finish. And the Frame’s defining feature — that it should look like framed art on the wall when it’s off — only works if the install honors it. That means the Slim Fit Wall Mount has to be installed perfectly flush against the tile so the TV sits nearly flat against the surround, the One Connect cable has to be routed inside the wall to a relocated outlet (not draped across the mantle or hidden under a cord cover), and the mount height has to be dialed for comfortable viewing from the couch. Every one of these details compounds. Get them all right and the Frame looks like art above the fireplace. Get any of them wrong and you have an expensive TV with visible wires above a beautiful fireplace — the exact opposite of what the Frame was designed for.

Bat City TV is an authorized Samsung dealer, which means we sell, source, and install the entire Samsung Frame TV lineup at competitive dealer pricing — 32″ through the flagship 85″ — along with the Frame TV Pro and every other Samsung model. Buying through us means one company, one phone number, one appointment for the TV, the mount, the tile drilling, the in-wall One Connect concealment, the outlet relocation, and Art Mode setup. We’re also authorized dealers for LG, Sony, and Sonos. Our Barton Hills service area covers Zilker, Bouldin Creek, South Lamar, Travis Heights, South Congress, and all of South and Central-South Austin.
