Northwest Hills is one of Austin’s most established affluent neighborhoods — the wooded community of custom homes built into the hills west of MoPac and north of 2222, where mature trees, large lots, and architectural-scale primary living rooms have made it one of the most consistently desirable corners of the city for decades. The homes here were built in an era when living rooms were designed with vaulted ceilings, open walls, and the kind of architectural scale that genuinely calls for a flagship-size display. So when a Northwest Hills homeowner reached out about installing an 85″ Samsung Frame TV with a matching soundbar, we knew this was the kind of install where every detail of the finish had to match the scale of the home itself.
The 85″ Frame is the largest size Samsung makes the Frame in — a genuinely architectural-scale piece of art-display technology. We anchored the included Slim Fit Wall Mount across multiple studs to safely distribute the cantilevered weight (an 85″ Frame weighs roughly 90 pounds and demands proper multi-stud anchoring), carefully lifted the TV into place with the right crew, and set it perfectly flush against the wall the way Samsung designed the Frame to sit. A matching soundbar was mounted directly below with exact spacing and a level laser line. The One Connect cable was routed through the wall to a recessed power outlet relocated behind the TV, and the soundbar cables ran through the wall via low-voltage pass-through plates. With the homeowner’s curated art loaded into Art Mode, the finished result was exactly what an 85″ Frame at this scale promises: a 7-foot-wide piece of framed art on the wall above a clean soundbar, with no visible cables anywhere.
An 85″ Samsung Frame TV is the flagship-size version of the Frame lineup, and the install requirements scale with the size. At 85 inches, the TV is nearly 7 feet wide and weighs roughly 90 pounds — that’s a multi-person lift requiring the right crew, a Slim Fit Wall Mount rated for the load, and multi-stud anchoring because no single stud can safely carry the cantilevered weight at that scale. The Frame’s defining feature is also harder to deliver at 85 inches: the Slim Fit Wall Mount has to be installed perfectly flush across the entire 7-foot width so the TV sits nearly flat against the wall without any visible gap, and the One Connect cable has to be routed inside the wall (not draped across the room) for the install to read as art rather than as a TV. The soundbar pairing is essential at this size — an 85″ TV’s built-in speakers physically can’t fill the kind of room that justifies an 85″ TV, so a quality soundbar is part of the install, not an optional add-on. Done right, the 85″ Frame is one of the most impressive installs in residential AV.
Bat City TV is an authorized Samsung dealer, which means we sell, source, and install the entire Samsung Frame TV lineup at competitive dealer pricing — from the 32″ Frame for kitchens and bedrooms all the way up to the flagship 85″. We also handle the Frame TV Pro and every other Samsung model. We’re also authorized dealers for LG, Sony, and Sonos, so the soundbar can be paired and installed in the same appointment. Common pairings on a Frame install of this scale include in-wall power relocation, Sonos Arc or Arc Ultra integration tied to the TV via HDMI eARC, and custom art subscription setup. Our Northwest Hills service area covers Great Hills, Jollyville, Spicewood, Westover Hills, Anderson Mill, and all of northwest Austin.
