Finished install: a 50″ outdoor TV above the fireplace with the cabling cleanly concealed along the tile surface, all built to survive Austin summers for years.

The mount has to be weatherproof-rated with sealed pivot points designed for outdoor moisture. The tile surround requires diamond-bit drilling and masonry anchors rated for outdoor exposure — regular masonry anchors will corrode over time in outdoor conditions. The cord cover has to be outdoor-rated too — standard indoor cord covers degrade from UV and humidity within a single Texas summer. The cabling itself needs to be outdoor-rated shielded cable in a weatherproof pathway to protected termination points. Every one of these details compounds, and skipping any of them creates a failure point that shows up within a year or two.
